Why I became a therapist...

My self-healing journey began 15 years ago after a broken engagement. It was a very traumatic experience. It left me feeling empty, unloved, unappreciated, and hopeless. After a few more failed attempts at relationships, I made the decision to seek support. I wanted to know why this kept happening to me. A combination of mental health counseling and energy healing helped me to uncover and heal my long standing emotional wounds. Through counseling, I gained insight on how my feelings of unworthiness created my pattern of dating emotionally unavailable men and why I did not feeling satisfied in these relationships. This new insight transformed my life. I gained more confidence, improved my relationship mindset, developed a holistic approach towards life, and later married the man of my dreams. Through my self-healing journey, I have come to believe in the law of attraction, manifesting desires, and incorporating spirituality in my quest for optimal wellness. My philosophy is that a person’s pattern of behaviors greatly influences their choices and relationships. The use of affirmations, positive visualizations, prayer, positive thinking, and establishing a good support all help to influence feelings and behaviors, which leads to creating successful fulfilling relationships including the relationship with yourself. I know personally how counseling and holistic wellness have greatly influenced my life in a positive way, and I want to help others to find that for themselves.

I am passionate about empowering individuals to live a more authentic, meaningful, and fulfilling life. I have created a safe and nonjudgmental space to allow you to move beyond your fears, life stressors, and unhelpful behavioral patterns. Together we will work with scientifically proven methods and holistic healing to help you feel better emotionally and to optimize your physical and spiritual wellness.

Professional Training

My professional training began at Southern Connecticut State University where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I then earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University. I have advance training in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reiki, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, which aid in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues.
