Hi, I’m Sydney Dawson, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A). My journey into the mental health field is rooted in both personal experiences and my passion for understanding human behavior. Growing up, I faced challenges with bullying and isolation, which sparked my curiosity about the “why” behind thoughts and behaviors. This personal reflection inspired me to help others find their voice, heal, and thrive.

I believe that with the right support, anyone can navigate life’s obstacles and build the confidence to create a fulfilling life.

Sydney’s Journey into the Mental Health Field

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Music from Roger Williams University and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University. My early career involved working with children and adults with neurodivergence as a behavioral technician in special education, collaborating with educators to create social-emotional and behavioral interventions.


In private practice, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, behavioral difficulties, and mood disorders. I use evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and executive functioning techniques to support clients’ growth.
