My mission is to help individuals to foster emotional wellness and healthy connections.
As a first generation Asian American immigrant, I recognize how life challenges and transitions can affect your mental health. My parents and I are Cambodian Refugees and we moved to Southern California when I was a child. Culturally, my parents did not understand the importance of counseling and I was not given the proper tools to deal with my emotions. All children are taught the fundamentals of academics, but not all children are taught how to manage their emotions, cope with them, and learn and grow from them.
It was not until the age of 18, after the loss of a loved one that led me to seek counseling on my own. Going to therapy helped me to find healthy ways to deal with my emotions and improved my self-confidence. My personal healing led to my decision to become a therapist.
My mission is to help adults at various stages of their lives learn how they can take their challenges, and transform them into their strengths by fostering good emotional wellness and healthy connections.

My professional training began as undergraduate major in English Literature. I then earned my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Connecticut State University. I have extensive experience providing bereavement counseling with children, group counseling with teenagers, and years of working in community health agencies.
My primary therapeutic modality is Client Centered Therapy in conjunction with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which aid in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral issues, family issues, and life transitions.
I provide clients a safe, nonjudgmental space to address, cope with, and overcome their life challenges. My approach is compassionate, creative, and solution-focused. It is very important that I offer personalized care that is custom-tailored for the individual. Therapy does not have to be boring! We can use creative tools to work on your goals, which may include art, play, movement, and narrative therapy.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort, and I like to engage families as much as necessary while still respecting each client’s private boundaries. I like to think of myself as a guide that helps to empower and encourage families to navigate life challenges together in order to create emotional wellness and meaningful connections.
