My mission is to help individuals heal their emotional pain so that they can live authentically and find personal joy.
As early as I can remember, I was seen by most people as a strong, happy person who had no worries. I played the cheerleader and problem solver role for my friends and family. Though it was nice to be viewed this way, it created a lot of pressure for myself.
It was hard for me to authentically express my emotions or ask for assistance when dealing with personal struggles. No one, not even my friends, knew what I was going through as they assumed I could handle all the curveballs life threw at me. It was not until I took a Sport’s Psychology Class in college, that I became aware of the physical and emotional toll that the pressure of being the strong one took on me. It caused me to have a lot of anxiety, negative self-talk, and self-doubt.
Sports Psychology taught me the skills needed to challenge my negative thoughts, create healthier emotional outlets, and improved my self-confidence. It also gave me permission to pursue my passion for dancing.
It was the catalyst to my self-discovery and personal transformation, which led to my decision to pursue a degree in Mental Health Counseling.

My professional training began at Northwest Missouri State University, where I majored in Psychology with a minor in Sport Psychology. I then pursued graduate studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, specializing in counseling and guidance with an emphasis on Mental Health.
In my professional career, I have worked with a diverse population of clients, including teens, college students, and athletes. I have also worked with individuals dealing with eating disorders and those who have experienced sexual and physical abuse. I am currently working towards my CMPC certification to become a certified consultant for mental practices in the athletic field.
I am passionate about helping individuals shed the expectations of who they “should be” and understand the importance of vulnerability and emotional well-being.
I provide culturally competent, and trauma focused care, especially for women of color who are dealing with racial trauma, intergenerational trauma, relationship issues, and life stressors.
I am trained in evidence-based and holistic practices that include EMDR, CBT, and Mindfulness-based approaches, which aid in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, sports performance issues, and identity issues.
