My journey into the mental health field has been deeply influenced by my own personal experiences. Growing up in a family that faced unmet support needs, I developed an unwavering empathy for young children who felt lost and overlooked. This ignited a profound desire within me to make a lasting impact on their lives and create a better future for them.
Driven by this calling, I pursued a major in Social Work at Western CT State University and went on to earn a Master’s degree from UCONN. These educational milestones provided me with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of mental health and better serve those in need.
My professional experience has been diverse and rewarding. As a guardian ad litem, I had the privilege of advocating for the best interests of children in foster care within the court system. However, I soon realized that my true calling extended beyond the confines of the courtroom. I yearned to create a nurturing and safe space where healing, growth, and connection could flourish on a deeper level.
This led me to transition into the role of a therapeutic case manager, where I formed profound connections with children who felt they had nowhere to turn. Becoming a steady and supportive presence in their lives, I offered them hope, reassurance, and the understanding that they were truly seen, heard, and valued. It was during this time that I discovered my natural ability to provide therapy—an undeniable calling that I couldn’t ignore.
Embracing this newfound path, I embarked on my journey as a dedicated therapist. Through individual therapy sessions, I have the privilege of guiding children and teens through the intricate process of trauma processing, helping them develop secure and trusting relationships, and equipping them with the necessary tools and coping skills to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and strength.
When you choose to work with me, you can expect a holistic and family-centered approach. I firmly believe in the transformative power of the family unit, and I work closely with parents to foster a deep understanding of their child’s development and needs. Together, we create a warm and welcoming environment where families can heal, grow, and flourish. Utilizing a personalized blend of play therapy techniques, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and family therapy techniques, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each family I work with.
It is my sincere belief that every family has the potential to heal, grow, and thrive. I am here to support you on this transformative journey, providing a safe and nurturing space where you and your family can come together to create positive change. Let us embark on this path of healing, growth, and flourishing together.
