What Is Holistic Therapy or Holistic Counseling?

Holistic therapy is a form of therapy that treats the whole person, inside and out. It integrates a person’s mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. At its core, the approach seeks to shed light on the deep-rooted connection between emotional and physical pain.

By addressing how you feel, you can get to the root of your pain, allowing your mind and body to heal as one. Holistic therapy uses a wide array of techniques to help you find inner and outer peace. These include meditation, positive affirmations, deep breathing, guided visualization exercises, and other relaxation techniques, all of which are complimentary to talk therapy.

Holistic counseling is based on the Law of Attraction, which states that like energy attracts like energy. If your mental health is thriving, those benefits usually permeate other aspects of your life, including your physical wellness and relationships. By understanding the connection between your mind and body, you can improve your self-esteem, expand your self-awareness, and alleviate pain and stress.

How Does Holistic Therapy Work?

Holistic counseling is all about getting to the source of your troubles, and this can only be done by looking at the whole person. It’s about finding balance in all aspects of life.

We provide a safe, nurturing, and nonjudgmental space for clients to uncover unprocessed emotions and find healing from trauma

Using our clinical and intuitive skills, we help clients gain a deeper understanding of their emotional pain by integrating mind, body, and spiritual techniques. These techniques help clients resolve old thought patterns, beliefs, and traumatic memories by bringing awareness to their needs and offering practical steps for attaining spiritual transformation.

We specialize in a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness Therapy. For trauma survivors, we like to use EMDR, a form of trauma treatment that uses multi-sensory techniques to change how the brain reacts to painful memories. This approach looks at how memories are relived as stress responses and offers practical ways to minimize their impact.

We utilize CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts and feelings, and how changing their thoughts can help them lead a healthier life. Finally, Mindfulness Therapy offers meditation and focused-breathing exercises to help individuals stay grounded in the present and calm as they navigate the future.
