Culturally Affirming Care for Women, Adolescents, and Adults

I support adolescents and adults through life transitions, emotional challenges, and experiences that impact their sense of self. I have a special passion for women’s wellness and culturally affirming care, creating a space where you can feel seen, strengthen your voice, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

ABOUT ME

Helping You Reconnect With Your Voice, Strengthen Your Sense of Self, and Move Forward With Confidence

Hi, I’m Dr. Nupsie-Flore Exantus, a Mental Health Therapist at Healing Springs Wellness Center. As a Haitian immigrant, I understand the quiet pressures and societal assumptions that many of us carry. Between cultural values, family expectations, and the pressure to “be strong,” it can be difficult to navigate these expectations as we build a life that feels true to who we are.

While I am deeply grateful for my family and upbringing, I also recognize that they came with real challenges. Choosing social work was my way of responding to generational trauma, honoring the resilience I had to develop as a child, and breaking glass ceilings for myself and my community. Through my own journey, I’ve learned how important it is to understand who you are, find your voice, recognize your values, and advocate for what you need.

I’m especially passionate about women’s wellness and supporting women of color. I understand the importance of having a space where all parts of your identity and lived experience are recognized and valued. Therapy can give you an opportunity to slow down, untangle what you’ve been carrying, and better understand yourself and your needs without shame or judgment.

My values of empowerment, cultural affirmation, and whole-person care guide my work. I want therapy to be a place where you can show up authentically, reconnect with your strengths, and begin creating meaningful change in your life.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Dr. Exantus’s Journey Into the Mental Health Field

I hold a Doctor of Social Work degree and bring more than 15 years of experience in mental health, emotional wellness, education, and program leadership.

Throughout my career, I have developed and facilitated programs focused on mental health, emotional intelligence, positive self-talk, and identity development. I have also worked in intensive therapeutic settings supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, childhood trauma, and other significant mental health challenges.

These experiences have strengthened my belief in helping people not only navigate difficult moments, but also develop practical tools that support their well-being beyond therapy.

MY APPROACH

What’s It Like to Work With Me?

My approach is warm, collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. We will explore the experiences and patterns that may be impacting your well-being while developing practical tools to support greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and meaningful change.

I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), traditional talk therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. I personalize our work based on your needs, goals, and experiences rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

When you work with me, you can expect compassion, honesty, and gentle accountability. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe while creating space for reflection, growth, and practical strategies you can use in everyday life.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. We can start exactly where you are.
