Culturally Responsive Care for Life’s Challenges and Meaningful Growth

I support adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, and difficult past experiences. With a special focus on men’s mental health, I offer a safe space to feel heard, build practical tools, and move forward with confidence.

ABOUT ME

A Supportive Space to Understand Yourself and Move Forward

Hi, I’m Winston Grant, a Licensed Master Social Worker at Healing Springs Wellness Center. I believe therapy is most meaningful when it is built on trust, collaboration, and a genuine understanding of your experiences and goals.

Beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you are not sure where to start. My role is to meet you where you are and help you make sense of what may be weighing on you, whether it involves stress, relationships, family dynamics, life changes, or patterns that developed earlier in life.

I have a special focus on men’s mental health. Many men have learned to manage stress, difficult emotions, and personal challenges on their own. Therapy can be a place to set some of that weight down, speak honestly, and build healthier coping skills without judgment.

I also enjoy supporting young adults as they navigate identity, relationships, and family expectations.

As a Caribbean American with family members who immigrated to the United States, I understand the importance of culture, family, and lived experience. I value creating a space where African American and Caribbean clients feel culturally understood and respected, while welcoming people from all backgrounds.

PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

Winston’s Journey Into the Mental Health Field

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut and my master’s degree in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University.

My experience includes supporting adolescents in behavioral and educational settings, as well as providing therapy to teens and adults in private practice. These roles have deepened my appreciation for how family dynamics, culture, and different life experiences can shape a person’s emotional well-being.

My path into the mental health field began with recognizing how many people do not have someone they feel safe being vulnerable with. I wanted to offer that kind of space: one where clients can be honest about what they are experiencing, better understand themselves, and feel supported as they move forward.

MY APPROACH

What’s It Like to Work With Me?

My approach is grounded in compassion, empathy, and collaboration. I bring a calm, genuine presence to our work and want you to feel comfortable showing up as yourself. I will listen closely, encourage you to explore new perspectives, and challenge you when appropriate, while respecting that you are the expert on your own life.

I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy, and family systems approaches. I also have training in couples counseling. We will identify the patterns that may no longer be serving you, recognize the strengths you already have, and develop practical tools that fit your life.

I believe the small wins matter. Healing is not always a straight line, and progress does not have to be dramatic to be meaningful. I hope that you leave therapy with greater self-awareness, stronger coping skills, healthier relationships, and more confidence in your ability to handle life’s challenges.

You do not have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can begin exactly where you are.
